Racines is the first project outside of France for partners Etienne de Montille (Domaine de Montille), Brian Sieve (Domaine de Montille) and Rodolphe Peters (Champagne Pierre Peters) The focus of Racines is on the cool, maritime influenced vineyards in the Santa Rita Hills where they produce Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sparkling wines Production methods are firmly rooted in the traditions of France with all native yeast fermentations, extended elevage, use of whole cluster for Pinot Noir and wines that have ample amounts of fresh acidity and the ability to age In addition to the future Racines estate vineyard that is currently in development, they also work with some of the most compelling and historical vineyards in the region – Sanford & Benedict, Bentrock, La Rinconada and Wenzlau Racines is quickly becoming one of the most exciting producers in the new world. A singular that brings together some of the greatest winemaking talents in France together in one of the finest terroirs in America

We only got 6 bottles, don't wait!!** Region: California Appellation: Santa Rita Hills Varietals: Chardonnay Vineyard: The Wenzlau Vineyard Chardonnay holding is farmed by the Racines team using organic practices. Wenzlau Vineyard sits surrounded by Rita’s Crown, Mt. Carmel, and Sea Smoke Vineyards, on a steep, dramatic hillside just above the Santa Ynez River and across from the famed Sanford & Benedict Vineyard. Soil: Sorento loam Viticulture: Farmed using organic practices Vinification: The wines were fermented in a combination of 500L puncheons, 350L barrels and 228L barriques, resulting in about 20% new oak on the wine. After nearly a year in barrel, the wines and all the lees were moved to tank for an additional five months of cellaring. Fermented using all native yeats Aging: 16 months total with 11 months in Frech, oak barrels (20% new) and 7 months in tank Production: 264 cases
