Chartreuse Yellow V.E.P.

V.E.P. (Vieillissement Exceptionnellement Prolongé or Exceptionally Prolonged Aging) spends a minimum of 5 years in barrel. The exact ingredients remain a secret known only to a few monks in the world. Made using the same processes and secret formula as the traditional liqueur, only two Chartreuse monks know the identity of the 130 plants, how to blend them, and how to distill them into this world-famous liqueur. They also alone supervise the slow aging in oak casks, and by extra long aging in oak casks it reaches an exceptional quality.

The Yellow V.E.P. comes in sweeter and at a lower proof than the Green V.E.P. On the nose, pronounced aromas of bramble, fennel, and licorice are backed by a pleasant sweetness. Floral and herbal notes on the palate are complemented by hints of sage, saffron, elderberry, anise, licorice, and thyme. Chartreuse Yellow V.E.P. has been given special treatment, allowing it to reach exceptional quality.

The V.E.P. is produced in a very limited quantity with a wax-sealed cork, a back-label wax-stamped with the Chartreuse seal. Every bottle is identified by its own number. This is a subtle, mellow after-dinner liqueur which should be consumed cold. Grab one while we have it because it is extremely hard to find. Cheers!
