Cameron Reserve Pinot Noir Dundee Hills 2024 PRE-ARRIVAL OFFER

Cameron Winery has been one of my top Oregon producers ever since I first tasted their wines many, many years ago. Made by slightly eccentric and enormously talented founder and winemaker John Paul, who on the winery website we are told “came to winemaking from an academic background. After receiving a PhD in Marine Biochemistry, he realized that winemaking offered opportunities to use the right side of his brain and to drink at work.” A quick glance at their website will also confirm that these guys don’t only make great wine, they seem to have a pretty good time doing it!

This is a blend of Pinot Noir grown in their Abbey Ridge and is an incredible entry level wine to the amazing Pinots from Cameron. It captures Oregon fruit with a dash Burgundian complexity and structure, in this case yielding a wine with beautiful dark and red fruit cherry notes, black tea, a little earth underbrush, moderate tannins and a long beautiful finish. A great buy for under $50, it is sadly very limited with less than a half dozen cases on offer. Don’t delay!
