No fires. No smoke taint. The Napa Valley Vintners said that the “Joy is back” for the 2021 growing season. The drought continued, yielding smaller berries and harvest. Karl Lawrence winemaker, Bruce Devlin, says that this 2021 vintage “shows a soft entry with a robust mid pallet. The tannins are aggressive at first but soften toward velvet and a very long finish.” Sourced from the Pocai Vineyard, Karl Lawrence’s 2021 vintage is 81.6% Cabernet Sauvignon blended with 7.68% Cabernet Franc, 5.54% Malbec, and 5.17% Petit Verdot.
